Interpersonal Therapy
Interpersonal Therapy
Interpersonal psychotherapy (IPT) is a highly structured approach that centers around the belief that psychological symptoms are a response to current difficulties in relationships with other people. For example, IPT can help patients better deal with feelings of depression after breakups. The goal is to achieve interpersonal problem solving by focusing on improving interpersonal functioning to relieve symptoms.
